Anderson, Class of 1916 at LF College, served in World War I as aide de camp (driver) for General Pershing, head of U.S. Army Forces in France, since he knew German learned in College, and if they got stuck behind enemy lines, he could talk their way out. The post was organized in 1921 and that year began sponsoring LF Day. The present post is the former Rasmussen shoe store, moved in 1916 to its present location in 1916, and converted in 1935 into the post’s headquarters. Architect Anderson was the architect.
